Craps Table Layout

The average craps table may look complicated but it is quite easy to understand. It is about the size of a billiards table and is designed to accommodate between 12 and 24 players. Certain areas of the table are painted with different colors to show each player where bets can be placed. For ‘pass line’ and ‘don’t pass’ line bets and ‘come’ and ‘don’t come’ bets are to be put on the corresponding lines on the table. For ‘field’ bet there would be a special square for players to place their chips on. Big 6 and 8 bets can be placed on the line between the two numbers in the corners of the table. There is a special section for ‘place’ bets.

How To Play Casino Craps

To begin with, the right to roll the dice is rotated clockwise around the craps table. The players take turns throwing the dice. In general the same person will throw until they seven out. The shooter must roll that number again before a 7 is rolled out. If that happens, you win money for your pass line bet. If a 7 is rolled out before the point number is rolled again, you lose.

The remaining numbers 4,5,6,8,9 and 10, if they should come up, they become the “Point”. If the player roles the Point, they must continue rolling the dice until the ‘Point’ or 7 comes up. When the ‘Point’ comes up before 7, all the pass line bets win, and if it does not come up all pass line bets lose. When you make an additional bet behind the pass line bet it is known as the "Odds Bet." The best in a craps game after the come out roll is the odds bet. Do not make a pass line bet after the come-out roll. This is allowed but not advised because the value of a pass line bet fades after the come out roll. A pass line bet is the simplest bet you can make on at the craps table.

Different proposition Bets

There are different proposition bets,

Come out Bet  is the first roll of the dice. Wherein, a pass line bet wins if a 7 or 11 is produced on a come out roll. In case a 2, 3, or 12 appear the pass line loses.

Don’t come Bet is the opposite of ‘come out’ Bet. A player wins when a 2 or 3 are rolled out and he loses upon a 7 or 11.

Place Bet number is rolled out before a 7, and then produces a win from the player. The player loses if a 7 is rolled out before the place bet number.

Field Bet is a single roll bet that may be placed on any roll. If numbers 3,4,9, 10 or 11 appear the player wins even money. In case any other number is rolled out the player loses. 

Hardways are bets placed on a 6 (3 , 3) or 8 (4 , 4) or 4 (2 , 2) or 10 (5, 5). To win these bets, you need the double you bet on comes out before a 7 comes up, or the number that comes up is a non-double one, such as 2,4 or 1,5 instead of a double 6.

One Roll Bets pay even better than hardways. This is a bet that the next roll will be whatever you are betting on, hence the name "one roll bet." There is the 2 (1, 1), the 12 (6, 6), three or 11 or any seven.

Horn and Hop bets are also ‘One Roll Bets’. Horn bets allow you to make four bad bets at once, a bet on the 2,3,11, and 12 one roll bets at once. This means the value of the bet must be divided by four. Example, $40 is a $10 bet on each. Hop bets do not have a place on the table to play. A hop bet will have to be called out before the dice are rolled.

Horn High here many players who make the Horn bet prefer to bet in $5 multiples so they will designate one number as the high number and bet $2 on it.

Any Seven is a onetime roll bet, the next number rolled out will be a total of seven and the payout is 4 to 1.

Any Craps is also a onetime roll bet, the next number rolled out is a craps number. If a 2, 3 or 12 is rolled out a player wins 7 to 1.

Craps 2 is when the next number rolled out is 2. It pays 30 to 1.

Craps 3 is when the next number rolled out is a 3. It pays 15 to 1.

Craps 12 is when the next number is a 12. Players often call this number midnight, it pays 30 to 1.

World or Whirl is a combination of the Horn Bet and Any Seven Bet.

Big 6 and 8 Bets which is placed on any roll of the dice. The player wins if a 6 or 8 come up before a 7.

Yo- Eleven is when the next number rolled out is 11. It is called YO Eleven to avoid confusion with the similar pronunciation as Seven.
